Ladies,
For my L W*rd followers, please sound off here. Is it me or is the Final season starting off CRAZY!!!!!! What the heck is going on? What are your thoughts folks? Do you like it? Hate or In Between.(That is me) . What about Jenny & Shan*? Ugh! No! No! No! Did I mention, No?
P.S. what the HECK is wrong with folks in the stereotype department? Today, I was chatting with a few newer co-workers and everyone was sharing different statements about what shows were finally back on or coming back on...(i,e : Big L*ve, Tudors, etc). Anyway, I was mentioning I was happy The "L W*rd" was finally back on. A hush literally fell over that crowd. I was so clueless I was trying to figure out why for a moment. Then a particularly crazy co-worker says in a whispered tone - "You mean the show about .... you know.... Lesbians?" (The way she said it, you would think we were about to make our plans for an illicit drug deal exchange). I said, "Actually, it is about a bunch of people some of which happen to be Lesbians." Her response....."I mean, I am surprised you watch that show since you like men and all." (P.S. I do LOVE Men but how they arrived at that point I have no idea...I wasn't wearing my I Heart Hot Latin Men T-Shirt or anything...lol) At that point, I laughed my head off. "I said are you serious? What does me being a Heterosexual have to do with the show I watch? Lets face it, Thousand of folks that identify themselves as Gay watched "Friends" and a Million other societally mainstreamed shows and folks aren't shocked. " Needless to say the convo died down not long after that. LOL. Why is it when a Straight woman watches this show that some OLD school, Less Open-minded folks are shocked? Guess, I just don't get it.
Anyway, looking forward to reading your comments about any of this and certainly feedback on the Final Season. I am chugging along trying to keep positive thoughts until my Dr. Appt in March. :)

i'm straight and love The L* Word. They are some amazing women.
I knida stumbled on your blog and I have to comment. First off I am a lesbian and I watch the show. And no lesbian I know live like that. Seriously no one lives like that. It's on tv meaning fake. So I wouldn't see why you have to be gay to enjoy it. Lots of my straight friends are enthralled with it. But Jenny and Shane? EWWWWW. Seriously I want to burn my eyes out. I can't wait until Jenny dies. She is a rotten person. Ew.
I have never watched the show. But then I am pretty clueless about ALL regular shows on TV. I just don't have a regular schedule to be able to tune in, and besides, I work evenings.
I found this post pretty entertaining though.
You mean to say gay people watched "Friends"? *gasp*!
And heteros watch shows that have gays in them? What is this world coming to? *wry grin*.
I was kind of under the impression that most heteros (like me) know and love others that are of the homosexual persuasion.
Hmmm....perhaps I should never watch National Geographic, lest people assume I have an interest in monkeys because I believe they are my ancestors. Good grief.
Jenny and Shane is very gross. Shane lost my respect awhile ago though.. leaving Carmen at the alter did it for me.
Anyhoo... your co workers crack me up.
I started watching this show like 8 months ago after you mentioned it on your blog. I had 1/2 way through season ONE and then Kayla's adoption came along and my L Word watching came to a halt. When Nick leaves, I plan to watch the rest of the seasons and I cant wait. (to watch the rest, not for Nick to leave..lol) It will keep me busy!
Hey there! Thank you for the comment on my blog!
I agree with you about the show... it is definitely strange this season. But this last episode was hilarious. I just loved watching Bette and Tina laughing their a$$es off over Jenny and Shan*. I personally can't stand Jenny and everytime I see her and Shan* kissing or trying to be lovey dovey I cringe. I NEVER thought I would ever see those two together. My reaction was much like Alice's when she found out.
It really doesn't surprise me that your co-workers reacted that way. People can be so close minded sometimes. And you know that girl who made the comment watches the show too!
I am so torn about the show this season. I HATE Jenny and Shane together. Makes me nauseous! Shane is hot, and Jenny is a down right b!+ch! The two of them should not be together. I have my fingers crossed that it ends. SOON!
And I just absolutely hate that this is the last season. I will miss my L Word. Big time.
And as for the stereotypical comment. Some people are just full of ignorance. And there comments prove it. :-)
I know nothing about L-word show, but am still mourning the loss of QAF. BUT, Brian showed up on Desperate Housewives!! Yummy.
As for streotypical commentes, I hear that kind of stuff in the prep room all the time. Someone once warned me to stop "defending gays" or people would start to question my sexuality. I said, so b/c I also stand up for the poorest of the poor, abused children, and take MLK as a hero, I am also a a poor. black child? She didn't hink it was funny. ;)
