Needless to say I was thankful Specials (art class) was right after this so I could get myself together. Just when I wonder if anything I am doing is getting to the kids....a miracle happens. Let me tell you, Teaching is the most exhausting, wonderful Calling that you never get paid well to do. School started for my County in August so I have been through so much with my students & I have so many challenges in my room this year. However, somehow I am reaching them...well at least a few.
Did I mention I can't wait to have my own little Rugrat to teach & drive me crazy!

That is such a neat story. It has to feel great to know that you are really reaching someone and making a difference in their life. And it sounds like you have definitely made a difference in that childs life. I can also relate to how you feel about being a teacher as I feel very much the same about being a nurse. For me, becomming a nurse is one of the best things I've ever done.
This is was so sweet! Thank you for sharing.
I also wanted to thank you for your sweet post to me on my blog about my father. That was so sweet and thoughtful of you. You are a sweetheart!
Oh, man... that really got me! What a sweet thing. Sounds like you are just what she needed at this point in her life. I'm sure others in your class will also always remember you very fondly. That is something, isn't it?! Teachers matter. YOU matter. Thank you for what you do!! I'm so glad you got to hear how you matter to that little girl!
Ladies, you are too sweet. Michell, I understand what you mean about nursing too. When my Mom has been in the hospital for awhile I have met some INCREDIBLE nurses..so caring & giving of their heart, time & talents. I am so happy you feel that way about what you do..sounds like it is your calling.
Meg...you are so welcome. I just wanted to try to encourage you. What you are going through is hard..emotionally & physically. Keep your chin out.:)
Chelle....Thanks. I hope I am reaching them but sometimes you just don't know. Their are times i think...maybe I will go back to school and become a Labor & delivery nurse...and then I sign a new teacher contract & get back in the classroom. Thanks for the sweet comments. I appreciate them. Sure has been nice meeting you!
I absolutely adore teachers like you. My son was lucky enough to have one for 2 years in a row, and I love her to death still. We struck up a real friendship during that time. She really brought out the leader in my shy child. She truly helped to mold him. Keep up the good work.
Berrymom..u r too kind. I really think that quiet students are frequently overlooked in the academic sector. I also have SERIOUS policies & expectations on my kids about NO Bullying, making fun of each other, etc. Many teachers I have learned through the years just ignore when this is going on in their classes...GROWL...some of these kids are litterally being emotionally tortured. (NOT in my class) Anyway, I am so happy you found a teacher that you can build such a kinship with. Your son more than likely came out of his shell more & more. How wonderful!
Wow, what a beautiful story! That brought tears to my eyes! Teachers are AMAZING people! Your baby is going to be one lucky little one to have such a wonderful and inspiring Teacher Mama!!
Oh Kelli...thanks for checking me out & your kind words! Your blog made me tear up more than once as well. If you EVER wanted a 2nd Career I know you would be an incredible Photogapher...your pics tell such amazing stories. I adore following your incredible journey. Also since I can't travel right now, sure is nice to see your pics, it brings back wonderful memories. Pleasure to meet you.:)
